A lot of news regarding DC and its future content has been a hot topic recently especially with news coming down yesterday that Idris Elba would be taking over for Will Smith as Deadshot in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad. Warner Bros is said to extremely happy with Gunn’s script and today we have more news regarding the DCEU from The Hollywood Repoter. Peter Safran and Patty Jenkins were asked about the upcoming DCEU and specifically if we might see a Justice League sequel any time soon.
“I sort of hope that we don’t do a Justice League movie for a little while because I’m excited to see all of their movies,” Jenkins told THR. “I want to see Aquaman 2, I want to see Flash.”
I agree with Jenkins in regards to wanting to see the Flash movie as well as a Green Lantern film. Recent reports indicate DC will indeed focus more on standalone films but that does not mean the films are not in one shared universe. Safran spoke about this saying
“I think that when you’re making really strong stand-alone movies, there’s really no need to bring them together, You want to give these characters room to breathe and live, and tell their stories.”
“Wonder Woman has shown what a great stand-alone property that is, And in Aquaman, we feel the same way. We think that there’s a great sequel and beyond to tell. We introduce seven kingdoms of Atlantis, right? James Wan knows the architecture, the armory, the military, the look, the feel, the general vibe of each of these kingdoms, and I’m sure that there will be an opportunity to explore them in some way later on.”
So while many may want to see another Justice League, it seems that will not be the case for some time. Does this mean that DC would not even consider a Justice League Dark? Only time will tell.

Cainan is a walking talking Superman fanboy since age 2! He has been a lover of movies since he could understand them which was probably around the age of 5. Geeking out to He-Man, G.I. Joe, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and just about every other Saturday morning cartoon. An old school action flick kind of guy, he grew up with Arnold, Stallone, and Willis keeping him company. He is also big into technology and video games. From the classic NES to the PS4, he has played them all. He runs the Geek Vibes Nation Twitter account and is also the main point of contact for booking guests for the podcast shows.
