Netflix and Serkis Agree to bring George Orwell’s Animal Farm to the Big Screen

  With the ink barely dry on the contract that Netflix signed with Andy Serkis to acquire his film rights to Mowgli, they have once again teamed up with Serkis and acquired the rights to the George Orwell novel Animal Farm. Serkis will direct a performance-capture film with 6th & Idaho’s Matt Reeves, and Rafi Crohn. Adam Kassan will produce with The Imaginarium’s Serkis and Jonathan Cavendish. The deal reunites Serkis with Reeves who worked together with Serkis on Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and War for the Planet of the Apes. Could Melmac’s Favorite Son Make A Return?

Although it’s strictly in the planning stages, it is possible that ALF may be making a return to TV. Warner Bros TV is exploring a possible reboot of the popular ’80s alien sitcom as reported by Deadline. The original series centered on a “small, furry, arrogant extraterrestrial from the planet Melmac with a taste for cats, who’s taken in by an average American family.” Written by Murray Chapman, the NBC series ran for four seasons , from 1986-90. Season 2 of Marvel’s ‘Runaways’ Set For Winter 2018

Fan’s of Hulu’s Marvel’s Runaways will be happy to hear that the 2nd season is scheduled to begin before the end of 2018. This was confirmed today during a visit to the set of Runaways for the Television Critics Association press.
