It’s officially International Women’s Day and while I hope you are heading out to the theater to watch Captain Marvel, I also wanted to take a moment to give a nod to the kick-ass women in Netflix’s “Defender-verse”. Trailer and Release Date Revealed for Ava DuVernay’s ‘When They See Us’

Netflix and Ava DuVernay have released a trailer and the debut date for the directors long awaited series based a true crime and prosecution of 5 wrongly convicted teens in NYC.  The series was originally called Central Park Five but has now been changed to When They See Us. DuVernay spoke about why the name was changed saying “In 1989, five black and brown teen boys were wrongly accused of a crime they did not commit and branded The Central Park Five, a moniker that has followed them since that time. #SaveDaredevil Campaign Purchased Billboards In Times Square

The love for Daredevil will not be squashed simply because Netflix has decided to discontinue the series. The #SaveDaredevil campaign is still strong despite the streaming services announcing that they are canceling both The Punisher and Jessica Jones (although it will still release its third season), thus severing the ties they had with Marvel. Still, this is a “Fandom Without Fear”, shown by a few digital billboards in Time Square, purchased by the campaign.
