Update: Representatives from DC have reached out to us via email and informed us that Swamp Thing will indeed not be picked up for a second season on DC Universe

All 10 episodes of Swamp Thing will air on DC UNIVERSE. Members can watch a new episode every Friday through the finale on 8/2.

In what appears to be a very shocking turn of events for the DC Universe freshman series, Swamp Thing, it has been reported first by GWW and now Bloody Disgusting that the series is cancelled after one season. WOW! We have only gotten into the first episode and WarnerMedia pull the plug on a show that seems to be tracking well with critics and fans. GWW sites this as the reason for the show being cancelled

“The decision seemingly boils down to WarnerMedia/AT&T executives not liking the direction of the show”

We have reached out to several DC and WB reps but have not heard back. We did however see that Bloody Disgusting has confirmed the report but they did not offer any additional details at this time. If we get more details we will for sure pass them along.

This is sad news as Titans and Doom Patrol are much loved shows on the DC Universe app and Swamp Thing has even been heralded as the best of the three shows so far. Fans have taken the news hard and some are even saying there is no sense in watching the rest of the series. I do not condone that and I think we should honor the actors and crew by seeing their work to the very end. We spoke with Maria Sten earlier this week and we look forward to her character develpment over the course of the one and only season the show will get.
