Jason Bateman To Direct And Star In ‘THE OUTSIDER’

Yesterday it was reported that Ben Mendelsohn (Rogue One, Captain Marvel) has been cast in the new television series The Outsider which is being adapted from the Stephen King novel.

Today it’s been reported by That Hashtag Show that not only will Jason Bateman direct the series but he will also star. The series is currently set for 10 episodes and will begin filming in February.  Bateman will play Terry Maitland who is under investigation by Ben Mendelsohn who will be playing Detective Ralph Anderson.

Hashtag Show has a breakdown of the show stating

The series will follow investigators in a small Oklahoma town who are confounded over an unspeakable crime that’s been committed: an eleven year old boy’s violated corpse is found in a town park. Eyewitnesses and fingerprints point unmistakably to one of Flint City’s most popular citizens. He is Terry Matiland: Little League coach, English teacher, husband and father of two girls. Matiland seems like a nice guy, but is he wearing another face? Is there a monster much scarier than anyone ever imagined?

Based on these new details it sounds like The Outsider is going to be a must see series. How do you feel about this latest news? Drop us a comment below.
