When Aquaman makes its highly anticipated premier, DC fans will finally have the chance to Be introduced to Arthur Curry, Mera, Orm, Black Manta, as well as explore some of the wonders of the Seven Kingdoms of Atlantis. With only so much screen time available and so much to see, there will no doubt be many stories left to explore in a sequel. With this in mind and the hope that Aquaman fan’s will be clamoring for a follow-up, Jason Momoa has already pitched some ideas to Warner Bros. for the possible sequel. He shared this with Syfy Wire:
I definitely have an opinion. Even when we were shooting Aquaman, I have the opening of Aquaman 2 ready. I went in and pitched it to [producer Peter] Safran, and I pitched it to [Warner Bros. chairman] Toby Emmerich. They loved it. It’s awesome…But yeah, I have plans for Aquaman 2.
Momoa is not the only one with proactive thinking on this matter as Director James Wan also chimed in.
There’s definitely stories, even within the world we’ve created, that you can actually see other storylines [spinning off from] as well,” Wan said. “There’s the Aquaman story, but then there’s the stories of the seven different kingdoms as well. I think those would be very fun to explore.
Is it too soon to be thinking about the next Aquaman before it makes its December premier? Is it a positive that both actor and director see the future of the film leading to more? Share your thoughts on the further exploration of the Seven Kingdoms with us at GVNation.
