Jon Favreau spoke with Empire and talked about legendary actor James Earl Jones returning to voice Mufasa once more.
“I see it as carrying the legacy across, Just hearing him say the lines is really moving and surreal. The timbre of his voice has changed, That served the role well because he sounds like a king who’s ruled for a long time.”
Favreau has already seen success adapting an Disney animated film into live action, CGI with the Jungle Book and he looks to continue that success with The Lion King. Favreau’s Star Wars series The Mandalorian debuts on Disney+ this fall.
Everything that is happening with the Lion King has me 100% on board. I honestly feel sorry for those that are not as excited as I am for this film!

Been a nerd my whole life. Started with anime and cartoon not soon after Films, Comic Books and Video Games became what I enjoyed as well. Star Wars is the great franchise, but I do love Star Trek, Lord of the Ring, and Harry Potter.
I want the nerd community to be kind to each other. Stop sending threats to each other and celebrities. I would love to engage in intense debate about the things we all love, not yell at each other and call people idiots just because they don’t agree with your opinions.
I also love sports, boxing and basketball are what I do in my free time.
