For anyone holding out hope that the upcoming Black Widow solo movie would be rated R, we have bad news for you. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige discussed the subject with Comicbook.com, ruling out the possibility of the adult rating. Instead, Black Widow will have a PG-13 rating, with means no overly violent action scenes, vulgar language, or anything else that would prevent moviegoers from bringing young children.
“It never was going to be,” Feige said. “Somebody writes, ‘I hear it’s R-rated!’ And then everybody writes it up.”
Black Widow is expected to be directed by Cate Shortland from a script by Jac Schaeffer and is expected to be released in 2020. Are you upset that Black Widow won’t be rated-R or were you expecting this to simply be a rumor?
