Plot

This movie revolves around a widowed mom, Stephanie, that is determined to find her best friend,Emily, after Emily leaves her kid at Stephanie’s house.

Expectations

To be honest I didn’t have much expectations for this film. I came into this film without watching a single trailer. The only reason why I watched this film is because it we the soonest thing I could watched after class ended. Not only that, it was free because of movie pass so why not right.

Characters

Anna Kendrick character, Stephanie, was a bit annoying she was the type that was very apologetic, always positive, and you knew what she was thinking. Blake Lively character on the other hand is very sexy she has confidence herself, and she was mysterious. They were the total opposite of each other and this is why I like their chemistry. Stephanie starts to learn more about Emily and the more they talked to each other the more Stephanie starts be more like Emily. The one thing I will say is that Stephanie’s character motivation was a bit confusing to me. First she wanted one thing then a second later she does something that totally undermines the things she wanted.

Acting

The standout for me was Black Lively I don’t know what is, but when she is on screen I just can’t stop looking at her. It isn’t because she is pretty, which she is. I think it’s her acting ability. She was the lead in The Shallows, which I though wasn’t good at all; but her performance was really good. Anna Kendrick well you she is perfect in everything she does she very adaptable, she can be sexy, awkward, funny she has it all.

Directing

Paul Feig has been on and off as a director for me. With film I didn’t like: Ghostbuster and The Heat and films I did like: Brides Maids, Spy and now A Simple Favor. The way he directs everything in this film just makes everything perfect the comedic time, he brings out the best of his cast members each seen I was totally engaged.

Overall Thoughts

I thought almost everything was smooth from the screenplay, cinematography, acting, directing , but I did fell like A simple Favor could be shorten by a little bit. The explained everything which isn’t really a big deal, but I think us as a viewer could figure things out on our own.

8.7/10

I know I missed a lot in this review, so I will leave the rest to you all. What did you all think of A Simple Favor?
