With six movies in the can and a Box Office haul of over 1.2 billion dollars, it’s not surprising that the Resident Evil franchise would be looked at as a possible target for a television adaptation. Per a story in Deadline, it appears that might be the case as Netflix is exploring the potential for a series based on the popular movie series which has starred Milla Jovovich and is based on the Capcom video game series. Deadline says this will be a Netflix global original and that German production company, Constantin Film, will produce.
As it is being discussed, the drama series will expand and explore the machinations of the Umbrella Corporation and focus on the new world order which was initiated by the spreading of the T-virus. While the series is still in the early conceptual phase, it is expected to reflect the elements that made the films so successful.

I am a 50 something child of the 70’s who admits to being a Star Trek/Star Wars/Comic Book junkie who once dove head first over a cliff (Ok, it was a small hill) to try to rescue his Fantastic Four comic from a watery grave. I am married to a lovely woman who is as crazy as I am and the proud parent of a 15 year old boy with autism. My wife and son are my real heroes.
