Astros-Indians ALDS Preview and Predictions

The last two American League champions will meet in the ALDS starting today and this series promises to be a good one. The defending World Series champion Houston Astros will take on the team that came within outs of winning the World Series two years ago, the Cleveland Indians. Both teams feature good pitching, but shaky bullpens, along with batters that can bust a game open with one swing of the bat. What’s astonishing is that this series isn’t even the most anticipated, but we’ll get to that in a later post. Nonetheless, while you’re waiting for Red Sox-Yankees, these

Braves-Dodgers NLDS Preview and Predictions

The last time the Braves made the playoffs was 2013. Their opponent? The Los Angeles Dodgers, who won that series 3-1. Fast forward 5 years and these are two totally different teams. In fact, there’s only two Braves players that were on that 2013 roster: Freddie Freeman and Julio Teheran. The Dodgers feature 5 players from that team: Yasiel Puig, Matt Kemp, Clayton Kershaw, Kenley Jansen, and Hyun-Jin Ryu. These are not the same teams as back then. The Braves are full of youth and led by two of the best young players in the game, and feature many players

Rockies-Brewers NLDS Preview and Predictions

Now that the Wild Card games are out of the way, it’s time to get into the real business. So, while the Rockies beat the Cubs, the Brewers were watching and waiting for the winner. This’ll be a fun series between two somewhat similar teams. Milwaukee has a superior bullpen, while Colorado has better starters. Both teams have great batters like Christian Yelich, Lorenzo Cain, Nolan Arenado, and Charlie Blackmon. With two teams

Two More MLB Playoff Spots Clinched Last Night

The MLB season is winding down, and with it, teams are beginning to clinch playoff berths. Two more teams did just that last night. First, the Milwaukee Brewers clinched their first playoff berth since 2011 by beating the St. Louis Cardinals, 2-1, and completing the sweep of their division rivals. Led by MVP candidate, Christian Yelich, the Brew Crew became just the 2nd National League team to clinch a playoff berth, joining the Atlanta Braves, as opposed to the American League where all the playoff spots are already filled. The Brewers still have a chance to win the National League

The Yankees Are Going Back To The Playoffs and There’s Reason to be Concerned

Saturday night the New York Yankees clinched their postseason berth and one of the two American League Wild Card slots, by defeating the Baltimore Orioles, 3-2 in extra innings. There was elation in the air in the Bronx as Aaron Hicks roped a ball down the right field line that brought Didi Gregorius in to score from first base. Champagne was popped, speeches were given, and, for one night, the pressure was off from the team. Then the morning came. Gregorius scored the game winning run, sliding home head first, and in the process, tearing cartilage in his right wrist.
