Two-Face and Mad Hatter To Join Matt Reeves ‘THE BATMAN’?

A new rumor has surfaced from DiscussingFilm that indicates Two-Face/Harvey Dent and Mad Hatter are joining the stacked villain ensemble for Matt Reeves The Batman. A few weeks ago We Got This Covered mentioned Two-Face would appear so this seems to be confirmed for now. Earlier this week it was reported by GWW that Firefly would be joining Catwoman, Penguin and the Riddler. If these reports are true, then that would make six villains so far for the Robert Pattinson led film. Both DF and GWW indicate that things could change as the film is in pre-production and Matt Reeves is still polishing the script. I have heard that these villains were part of an early draft so its possible that Mad Hatter, Firefly and Two-Face are no longer involved. Several trade sites has reported that Catwoman, Penguin and Riddler were most likely in the film and even Reeves himself teased that. There have been rumors that Scarecrow, Court of Owls, and even Hush might be possible villains as well.

This Batman film is going to focus on Batman being more of a detective to solve a murder mystery in his early days as the caped crusader. Reports indicate Riddler would be the main villain so it possible that the other villains are more cameo than anything. At this time only Robert Pattinson has been confirmed for the film and no other casting announcements have been made. Filming should begin early 2020 unless things are pushed back even further. There have been no new reports on Reeves and the script but if filming is set to begin early next year then he must be close to be done or even finished.

Quite an impressive line up of villains, Firefly and Mad Hatter would be new to scene. We last saw Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises and Two-Face in The Dark Knight. Penguin has not been in a Batman movie since Tim Burton’s Batman Returns and Riddler was last seen in Batman Forever played by Jim Carrey.

The Riddler and Penguin were key villains on Fox’s Gotham which ended in April.
