Fans of Zombieland will be happy to know that the long-awaited sequel, Zombieland: Double Tap; is in the works. Jesse Eisenberg offered some new inspiration while at SXSW in Austin, Texas. According to the actor, who will be returning as Columbus, the sequel will certainly satisfy fans who have waited so long for the next installment in the Zombieland franchise.
“It’s going really well. Just resting on our laurels and really cocky [laughs]. No, the opposite. We’re working so hard. It’s one of these movies that, people loved it for personal reasons. So it’s not just a big hit movie. People love it for personal reasons so you want to make sure it’s as funny and as personal as the other one.”
With Zombieland having been wildly successful and coming out in 2009, many have waited a long time for a sequel. And it’s being revealed that one of the main reasons as to why a sequel hadn’t been done sooner is due to getting the cast of Emma Stone, Woody Harrelson, and Abigail Breslin back together. The movie has also been waiting for writers Rhett Rheese and Paul Wernick to come back, but both who were working on Deadpool 1 and 2 recently.
